Asteroids (Arcade) - One of the first games I ever played, and one I can still play today for hours on end. The ship control is so fluid, so reactive, that you can concentrate completely on the task at hand: survival. The graphics are so smooth and clean, with a vector look that looks cool even today. Add the "Jaws"-esque thumping background sound, and you have something truly special. Memorable moment: Neighborhood kids stealing money from their brother, their parents, their church to play this game. |
