Doom (multi): The best 3D shooter ever. The best 'doom clone' is Doom itself. Other games may look prettier (Quake/Unreal) or be funnier (Duke Nukem) or have better atmosphere (Alien vs. Predator), but none play as well as the original Doom. Wanna know why? Cuz it doesn't require you to know a bunch of keys to play, you don't have to aim, you don't have to jump around. It's just you and your survival instincts. Your focus is completely on the gameplay, and that's what makes it great. Memorable moment: The final level of Jag Doom, where you discover you personally don't need to kill all the monsters to beat the game. |
