R-Type (Arcade) - The finest 2D side scrolling shooter ever. Well, maybe with the exception of Defender 2000. Again, gameplay grabs you by the throat and demands your undivided attention. Hand drawn graphics that still look great today, with tension filled music that adds immeasurably to the experience. Anyone who is even thinking about designing a shooter should be required to play this game - it's that good! Memorable moment: Saying "Hit the music" before the intense boss music starts to swell. |
